Borrow a First Aid Kit
Service

Aid and Assist's Borrow a First Aid Kit Service lends first aid kits to people residing in the Greater Ottawa Area for up to a month at minimal cost. Consider borrowing a kit if you're organizing a trip, event, or outing to help keep you and your community safe!

How it Works

To borrow first aid kit(s), create an account with Aid and Assist. We'll ask for your name, email, and phone number. You will also have the opportunity to add your billing address and up to three anticipated delivery address(es). Once you've created an account, check out with the kit(s) you'd like to borrow. A kit delivery time scheduling link and a First Aid Kit Contract and Waiver will be sent to the email address on file. After you've completed those documents, Aid and Assist will process your payment (see Payment Methods below) and you can look forward to receiving your first aid kit(s) on the time/date of your choice. When you're ready to return your kit, access your emailed Deliveral Retrieval Link to schedule a pick-up. Your retrieval address does not need to be the same as your delivery address.

Deliveries and Retrievals

Aid and Assist currently delivers first aid kits to, and retrieves first aid kits from, all Ontario locations served by OCTranspo. This boundary may be expanded in the future.
If you reside in Quebec, or outside of the boundary, contact us to discuss potential alternatives.

Costs

As a registered non-profit, we strive to keep prices as low as possible to keep our service accessible to the community. We charge a $25 per kit service fee, regardless of the kit, which provides you with:

  • Delivery of a fully-stocked first aid kit to the address of your choice, at the time of your choice;
  • The first aid kit's retrieval on the day of your choice. First aid kits can be borrowed for a maximum of 30 days; and
  • Up to $5 in free itemized content charges

To cover the cost of restocking the first aid kits we lend, we charge an itemized content fee. This fee consists of the cost of each item used at (often wholesale) market prices and a 10% shipping/handling fee. If you use more than $5 of supplies, we will charge the fee to your payment method, or deduct it from your e-transfer deposit, within 72 hours of the kits' return to Aid and Assist. We will also provide you with an updated receipt sent to the email address on file.

You can view the list of contents in each first aid kit, and their cost, here [link "view… here" to First Aid Kit Inventory List]. Prices are verified every two months.

Please note that clients will be charged the complete cost of a lost or stolen kit.
