Liam Callaghan
Working as an RCMP Policy Analyst by day, Liam founded Aid and Assist to provide you with the tools you need to better support your community. Liam is no stranger to non-profit initiatives; he proposed and led the creation of the Carleton University Students’ Association Unified Support Centre while completing his Master of Legal Studies and is also currently employed in a part-time, weekend role as a Community Reintegration Worker at the John Howard Society of Ottawa.
Liam brings his legal and policy expertise, operational development experience, and financial support to the Aid and Assist team. In his Executive Director role, Liam concurrently leads Aid and Assist’s operations and ongoing development while supporting its Services Managers wherever needed.

Chair, Operations Manager
Jean Peng
A graduate of Carleton University’s Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership program, and a member of both the Foodsharing Ottawa and MADD Ottawa and Area Board of Director teams, Jean brings her expertise in fundraising, non-profit organizational structures, and operational leadership to the Aid and Assist team. In addition to her Board of Directors role, Jean is responsible for facilitating the service delivery process by communicating with clients, assigning delivery and retrieval volunteers drivers, and overseeing the audit and restock process as Aid and Assist’s Operations Manager.
In her free time, Jean enjoys indoor gardening, adrenaline fueled day trips like rafting and gliding, and getting to know her community!

Secretary, Communications Manager
Neeharika (Neeni) Saha
Having graduated with an Honours in Economics and Business Administration, Neeni oversees the Carleton University Students’ Association’s Unified Support Centre as its Services Fulfilment & Development Supervisor in her full-time position. In this role, she leads the advertising, provision, and development of the department’s service delivery, providing emergency food and essentials and evening safety related support to the Carleton University community while managing two staff members, three volunteer leaders, and over 50 volunteers.
Neeni brings a passion for both marketing and organizational leadership to the Aid and Assist team and is directly responsible for creating the Aid and Assist logo and website design. In addition to her Board of Directors role, Neeni is responsible for developing the Aid and Assist brand by creating promotional material, approving the design of all new Aid and Assist designs, managing its social media, and promoting the organization within the greater Ottawa community as Aid and Assist’s Communications Manager.

Abby Ibrahim
An Honours in Cognitive Science & Computation graduate, Abby brings a comprehensive software development skill set to the Aid and Assist team. Prior to assuming his Board of Directors role, Abby led Aid and Assist’s website development team.
In his free time, Abby enjoys cooking, programming and active outdoor hobbies such as hiking, swimming, and biking.

Director at Large, Policy & Fundraising Manager
Rachel Lyons
Rachel brings a passion for equitable policy and service development to the Aid and Assist team. In addition to her Board of Directors role, Rachel proposes and develops the policy and operational frameworks of new services, ensures that the rights and responsibilities of clients, volunteers, service managers, and members of the board of directors are upheld, and pursues fundraising initiatives as Aid and Assist expands. Rachel is excited to be a part of an organization that aims to help better and bring safety to our society through community support!
In her free time, Rachel loves using her experiences training her service animal to create and host service animal related events for her friends and community. When not working to help others, Rachel can often be found chilling on her couch binging TV while perfecting her farm in Stardew Valley.

Director at Large
Vishahan (Vish) Thilagakumar
With a background in Computer Science, Vish brings a strong problem-solving mindset to his role as Director at Large. Vish leveraged his skillset as a Software Technician at a well-known Canadian organization, where he specializes in designing, building, implementing, and maintaining tailored software solutions for both internal and external requirements, to create Aid and Assist’s back-end databases prior to joining the Board.
Beyond his professional work, Vishahan enjoys hobby programming, drawing, video games, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments within the technology space.
